Education
With my interdisciplinary education, I use skills in data science and international relations to tackle ambiguous problems and build understanding with people from different backgrounds.
Georgetown University
Master of Science – Data Science & Analytics | Washington, DC, USA | Expected Graduation May 2024
Coursework:
Database Systems & SQL
Probability & Statistics (R)
Data Science & Analytics (Python & R)
Brown University
Bachelor of Arts – International Relations | Providence, RI, USA | Graduated May 2021
Taking classes from various disciplines enabled me to gain skills in R and Python and understand the wide applications of data science across disciplines.
I completed my Capstone on the information sharing and collection policies of Singapore and Vietnam in response to COVID-19 through November 2020. By analyzing two vastly different countries, I learned the importance of moving beyond the simple distinction of regime type and to examine the bureaucratic capacity and information sharing and collection policies of all forms of government in responding to the pandemic.

Work Experience
My work experience in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors have given me opportunities to apply data-driven methods and multicultural communication tools to approach complex problems.
Business Development Associate
OmniFoods / Green Monday | USA (Remote) | Jul 2021 – Jun 2022
OmniFoods is the food innovation arm under Green Monday, a social enterprise promoting plant-based living. OmniFoods’ range of alternative protein products includes the OmniPork series, OmniSeafood series and OmniEat series.
I work in the retail business development function, where I strategize OmniFoods’ expansion into 650+ U.S. retail outlets, analyze and forecast sales, and manage the logistics of exhibiting in 4+ trade shows and events. Wearing different hats in our retail team of 3 has helped me appreciate the value of data in helping us tailor the expansion of sustainable food options into national and regional U.S. markets.
Editions (Shared Kitchens) Intern
Deliveroo | Hong Kong | Sep 2020 – Jan 2021
The Deliveroo Editions model, which consists of delivery-only shared kitchens, provides the infrastructure needed for restaurant brands to reach new customers and try new concepts while avoiding overhead costs.
I used Looker and Excel to analyze the performance of 150+ restaurant brands by market segment. Based on my analysis, I developed and presented recommendations to 35 restaurant brands. Using data to help restaurants improve performance, especially when restaurants are experiencing a difficult time due to COVID-19, exposed me to the wide applications of data to solve social problems in the food industry.
Child Protection Initiatives Research Intern
Mother’s Choice | Hong Kong | Jul 2020 – Aug 2020
Mother’s Choice is a local Hong Kong charity serving teenage mothers and children without homes.
I worked closely with 2 other interns to research best practices in child protection and help the charity create its first child protection program for foster care families. We identified 3 main problems in child protection - a lack of context-specific child protection resources (especially for children in foster care in Hong Kong), a mismatch between concepts and skills, and the voluntary nature of education workshops. Then, I implemented context-specific recommendations to the charity’s existing child protection efforts.
Research Assistant
Watson Institute of International & Public Affairs | Remote | Jun 2020 – Aug 2020
My research into how Hong Kong and South Korea collected and shared information as part of their responses to COVID-19 helped me explore the value and ethical implications of using data in policy. I expanded upon my topical interest in information and data in my senior-year Capstone project at Brown University.
Congressional Intern
U.S. House of Representatives | Washington, DC, USA | Jan 2020 – May 2020
I worked at the Office of Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-1) during my participation in the Brown in Washington Spring 2020 program. In preparing responses to constituents and memos for hearings at the House Judiciary and House Foreign Relations Committees, I learned to examine policies and tailor my communication to the audience so that various stakeholders can receive relevant policy updates effectively.
Investigative Intern
Rhode Island Commission for Human Rights | Providence, RI, USA | Feb 2019 – May 2019
I examined allegations of discrimination, collected evidence from different stakeholders, and applied federal and state fair housing and equal employment laws. This experience helped me appreciate the rigor needed to examine assumptions and gather information to make reasonable case recommendations.
Leadership Experience
Chief of Staff, Advocacy
GradGov (Georgetown Graduate Student Government) | Washington, DC, USA | Sep 2022 - Present
I help lead the Advocacy branch of 40+ student leaders. Together with the VP of Advocacy, I review strategies of 10 committees biweekly, liaise between graduate student body and school administration, and translate diverse interests into action in 10+ running projects.
As a member of the 10-member executive board, I help manage 100+ student leaders and support 15+ initiatives across all 6 branches of GradGov.
Housing Coordinator & Member
Providence East Association of Cooperative Housing | Providence, RI | Jan 2021 - Dec 2021
Living in a cooperative was a transformative experience. Given the sensitive and personal nature of housing, I learned how to manage situations in a transparent, communicative way while protecting co-op members’ confidentiality. I also oversaw the co-op in an executive board of 6, planning logistics and delegating projects among 20+ members. Furthermore, I helped improve co-op systems by enforcing quorum for voting and eliminating penalties to ensure equity in community.
President, Vice President, and Treasurer
Brown-RISD Hong Kong Student Association | Providence, RI, USA & Hong Kong SAR | Sep 2018 – May 2021
Pursuing my studies and career outside of Hong Kong, where I was born and raised, makes it important for me to build a home away from home. In my sophomore year of college, I began serving on the Executive Board of the Hong Kong Student Association (HKSA), where I worked with our team to organize events like the Dumpling Making Night and Mid Autumn Festival that promote Hong Kong culture to 200+ students annually. While COVID-19 forced us to put a pause on our usual gatherings, we strengthened our community by holding small online gatherings for “families”, allowing HKSA students and alumni to develop mentorships and relationships.
Team Captain
Brown Mock Trial | Providence, RI, USA | Sep 2018 – Sep 2019
Did you hear about the chimpanzee that killed a writer during a television rehearsal? As Team Captain, I worked with my team of 8 to break down this creative fictional case. In this process, I learned how to analyze evidence and develop case theories, speeches, and examinations for both plaintiff and defense. Competing in 6 tournaments helped me appreciate and evaluate the merits of different perspectives.
